Westside Lending connects people who need a $500 to $5,000 personal loan with lenders and lending partners in our network. You fill out one free request, lenders who may be a fit can respond, and you choose whether any offer is right for you. We are not a lender, so every decision about approval, rates and terms is made by the lender.

The four steps

A Westside Lending request moves through four steps, from the form you fill out to funding if a lender approves you.

  1. Submit your request Fill out one short form with the loan amount you want, the reason for the loan, and basic details about your income and contact information. Most people finish in a few minutes. Submitting is free and does not commit you to anything.
  2. Get matched with lenders in our network We share your request with lenders and lending partners that may be able to help based on your amount, state and profile. Each lender reviews the request against its own criteria. If a lender can make an offer, you are usually shown it or sent to it right away.
  3. Review the offer on the lender's site If you get an offer, you review the rate, fees, monthly payment and full terms on the lender's own website. Take time to read the loan agreement and compare the APR, not just the payment. You can decline with no penalty.
  4. Receive funding if approved If you accept and the lender completes its final review and approves you, the lender sends the money to your bank account. Many lenders fund as soon as the next business day. You repay the lender directly on the schedule in your agreement.

What information is shared and with whom

Westside Lending shares the information in your request with lenders and lending partners in our network so they can decide whether to make an offer.

A request typically includes your name, contact details, address, date of birth, income source, employment details, the loan amount and purpose, and, in some cases, the last four digits or full Social Security number and bank information a lender needs to verify identity. Partners that receive your request may include direct lenders and other lending networks. We also use service providers, such as hosting and security vendors, that process data on our behalf. Details are in our privacy policy.

Soft vs. hard credit pulls

Submitting a request through Westside Lending does not by itself affect your credit score, but lenders may check your credit as part of their review.

Many lenders use a soft credit inquiry to show you an offer. A soft inquiry is visible only to you and does not lower your score. A hard inquiry usually happens only if you accept an offer and the lender finalizes your loan, and it may lower your score by a few points for a short time. Each lender sets its own practice, so read the lender's disclosures before you continue. Our glossary explains soft credit inquiries in more detail.

How long the process takes

Most people complete a Westside Lending request in a few minutes and see whether a lender is interested shortly after submitting.

After you accept an offer, the lender may ask for documents such as pay stubs or a bank statement, which can add time. If approved, many lenders send funds as soon as the next business day, though timing varies by lender, by the day and hour you finish, and by your bank's processing schedule.

What it costs

Westside Lending is free to borrowers. You pay nothing to submit a request, and there is no obligation to accept any offer.

Lenders and partners in our network may compensate Westside Lending when you submit a request or when a loan is funded. That compensation does not change the APR a lender offers you. Any cost of borrowing comes from the lender's interest and fees, which you will see before you accept. For example, $2,000 borrowed for 12 months at 24.99% APR is about $190 per month, about $2,281 repaid in total (about $281 interest). Estimate only. Read more on our advertiser disclosure.

What if you do not get an offer

Not every Westside Lending request receives an offer, because each lender uses its own criteria for income, credit history, state and loan amount.

If no lender responds, you are not charged and nothing is owed. You may want to try a smaller amount, check your credit report for errors, lower your existing balances, or ask a local credit union about options.
